NOVICE HOCKEY PROGRAM
I am excited to announce this year we have confirmed numbers to ice 2 Novice Advancing teams and 2 Novice Intermediate teams. This means being able to develop more players in our association.
The novice division is considered to be strictly recreational hockey. The primary concern is fun while developing the basic skills of hockey. Under no circumstances is novice to be considered competitive hockey. There will be no scores, stats, power plays, championship games, or game winners declared.
Players must be evaluated and placed in their appropriate skill level. There are three levels of novice, Developmental, Intermediate and Advancing.
On October 3
rd weekend the novice evaluations will take place. The evaluation process will consist of a morning skills session and an afternoon scrimmage. Each player will be required to perform five on ice drills. Time keepers will record the speeds of each drill. There will also be off ice evaluators that will evaluate each player during game play. The evaluations will help form teams to maintain balanced play where the athletes can develop and participate equitably and have fun playing hockey during the season.

Note: Drill #3 may not be required.
Could parents please let me know asap if your son or daughter is registered as a goaltender and will be evaluated as a goaltender. Goaltending evaluations may start as early as this weekend. (Sept 12
th weekend). I will be sending out an email by tomorrow.
