Misuse of Twitter Accounts

Message from President of Metro Minor Hockey League. 

Folks, it has come to my attention that a number of Midget teams participating in MMHL have started Twitter accounts. Unfortunately, with the anonymous features of Twitter, some users have gone far beyond what is acceptable. Hockey Nova Scotia has a policy surrounding the use of social media and I know what I have seen is far beyond acceptable.

At the time, I request you contact every head coach in your MHA and advise them to have those responsible immediately remove any Twitter accounts associated with teams in the Metro Minor Hockey League. I will report any breaches to Hockey Nova Scotia and any participants will be immediately suspended from play in the League.

In addition, someone has started a Twitter account stating that it is the Metro Minor
League official account and have used our name and logo under the name mmhlmidget. I have reported this breach to Twitter and it is currently under investigation.

This is a very serious situation and I request immediate action and your response.
