SMH Weekly Development

Hi everyone,
Hockey season is back! I am looking forward to a very fun and successful year for Sackville Minor Hockey. For those who don’t know me I am Andrew Wigginton the new VP of Development. I grew up playing in Sackville and went on to play Major Midget, Jr. A, Halifax Mooseheads and am now currently playing for the Dalhousie Tigers.

Development will start this weekend and continue on at the same times and location each week for the rest of the year.  The schedule is the following:

Pee Wee Development Sundays @ Arena from 10am-11pm
Atom Development Sundays @ Arena from 11am-12pm
Bantam Development Sundays @ Arena from 12pm-1pm

I encourage everyone to sign up for development as much as they can as it is free and will be very beneficial. My approach this year will be different than the past. My goal is to develop each individual skill that are not able to be worked on enough in practice. These skills will involve the following: power skating, outlet passes, rimmed pucks, goal scoring, shooting techniques, puck control, point shots, blocking shots, face-offs, etc.  All skills and drills that NHLers work on during the off season.
We have a great Development Team in place, all high level hockey players that are ready and eager to help develop and bring out the best in your child.
